People with EDS can benefit from a trained service dog.  This column is written by both a professional dog trainer and people with EDS who use service dogs.

In addition to writing for EDS Today, Lynn Hoover LICSW, is director of K-9 Partners, a small non-profit organization that works with patients of all ages with illness and disabilities to select and train dogs to assist.  K-9 Partners also publishes education booklets on selection, raising/handling and training of Skilled Companion and Service Dogs.

Paula Offutt and her Service Dog Joella contribute to the column regularly.  Paula has Hypermobility type EDS and is training Joella on her own. Paula's other writing may be viewed at her website.

The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and are not to be construed as an endorsement by EDS Today.
